The state has filed lawsuits against the Trump administration’s gender transition policy

More than 12 officials from a Democratic-led state are suing the Trump administration to block access to sex exchange procedures and treatment for people under the age of 19.
Complaints filed in US District Court Massachusetts AreaThe administration effectively argues that it wants to impose a nationwide ban on gender reconciliation procedures by threatening providers in investigations “bassad criminal charges.”
“The federal government is running a cruel and targeted harassment campaign against healthcare providers who provide legal, life-saving care to children,” said New York Attorney General Letia James, who is leading the coalition of nations in the lawsuit.

“This administration is relentlessly targeting young people who are already facing enormous barriers just to see and hear, putting countless lives at risk in the process,” she added. “In New York and the nation, we will never stop fighting for the dignity, security and fundamental rights of the transgender community.”
President Donald Trump, Attorney General Pam Bondy and the Justice Department have been appointed as defendants in the lawsuit. It challenges Trump’s January 28th executive order, government support for gender change and treatment, and two notes by Bondi and Attorney General Brett Schmate.
Bondi’s memo directs the Department of Justice to investigate and prosecute people who provide treatment for sexual change to minors. Shumate’s memo directs prosecutors to prioritize investigations of doctors, hospitals and pharmaceutical companies that carry out such procedures.
Ministry of Justice Probes have been launched in three children’s hospitals to be said to provide such treatment.

In July, Kaiser Permane announced that he would suspend sex exchange surgeries for patients under the age of 19 starting August 29, in response to the Trump administration’s efforts on the issue. In the same month, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles closed the center for Transyouth Health and Development, one of the nation’s largest clinics for transgender youth.
