He had won $15,710 in bull riding in his career, including $3,760 this season.
Grant also competed in the University of Wyoming Rodeo University team at university, winning the bull riding title at the Mountain State Circuit Final Rodeo in 2021.
“What happened to Dylan was deeply upset by us all at PRCA,” a spokesman for the organization told Fox News Digital. “Fatal injuries at the rodeo are extremely rare and our focus now is to provide comfort to Dylan’s family and everyone in the rodeo community affected by this unfortunate incident.
“PRCA has a procedure to check all serious cases to ensure the safety of competitors and animals. The results of that review may determine that financial fines and expulsions from future competitions are necessary. There is no answer yet.”
“He stepped on his head. He drove out of the arena and straightened to the ambulance with these injuries, but Dylan is double-stricken.”
Wade called the incident a “freak accident.”

“You’re just going to pull a lot of tears and heartache. He was built with kindness,” he added.
Grant’s family told ABC News that he knew the dangers of riding and wore a hockey helmet and Kevlar vest every time.
Rodeopodcaster Kendra Santa lamented his losses on social media.
“Our rodeo family lost a talented young cowboy last night,” she wrote. “Wyoming Bull rider Dylan Grant was intervened in the Wharton County Youth Fair Extreme Bulls in Wharton, Texas. Medic was a 24-year-old graduate of the University of Wyoming, Wyoming.

“Afterwards, Dylan was lit up by life at Memorial Herman-Texas Medical Center in Houston, where he was pronounced. At times of such deep shock and sadness, there is no word worthy of sympathy.

Another Bull Rider almost died Last month he was headed to the bull at an event in Florida. Zachary Naegele is expected to make a full recovery and will continue to compete.
