Thomas Frank leaves “a big part of my heart” to Brentford after Tottenham moves
Thomas Frank shared a heartfelt message with Brentford fans following his move to Tottenham.
Frank has replaced Ange Postecoglou, who was rejected last week after a poor Premier League campaign, despite officially breaking up with the bees after nearly a decade of service and offering his first trophy in 17 years.
Frank’s departure marks the end of the days of Brentford, who first joined as an assistant before taking charge in 2018.
During his tenure, he led the club through one of the most successful periods in history, including promotion to top flight.
In his farewell statement, Frank said, “It’s time for me to move on. But even when I leave, I know that I left a big part of my heart not only for the football club, but also for the community and of course, with my incredibly loyal supporters.
“I want to spread my deep gratitude to the club for giving me the opportunity to pursue my dreams.
“It was a privilege for my family and me to be allowed to be part of such a special community. It’s an experience and adventure we cherish for the rest of our lives. So, thank you very much.
“Whatever we achieve, we achieve together, and success is built on unity, spirit, courage and ambition at every level of the club and among the fans.”
“Everyone has contributed and every contribution has been invaluable. I am not only leaving the football club, but always saying goodbye to a friend who can carry me with me through good and bad times.
“So, this is goodbye, but I hope that the relationship I have built with everyone will be lasting. Of course, we will meet again in the wonderful world of football.”
Brentford football director Phil Giles also paid tribute to Frank’s legacy and recalled some of the club’s groundbreaking achievements under his leadership.
“It was a joy to work with Thomas,” Giles said.
“Thomas had so many special moments, but I will never forget the day at Wembley for the playoff final and the emotional first Premier League match against Arsenal.
“We will never forget Thomas, but now is the time to thank him and take the next step in our journey with new leaders who believe we are equally successful and influential.”
Frank left Brentford with an impressive record, securing 132 wins while in charge, ranking him as the third most successful manager in the club’s history.
