Tiktok and Instagram are reportedly working on TV apps following the success of YouTube

The streaming service has recently seen an increase in customer churn due to escalating prices, but the two biggest names on social media reportedly plan to launch a TV streaming product by throwing a hat in the ring.
Tiktok and Instagram Both are considering following YouTube’s charted paths on the YouTube TV service, which currently has an estimated 9.4 million subscribers. Two social media companies reportedly are building apps designed for television viewing.

However, Tiktok is said to have worked on the best way to approach the app for the past six months. (Tiktok previously had a TV app in 2021, but it didn’t promote it much and was pulled earlier this year.)
Although there was no official comment from Meta or Tiktok about the reported app, David Kaufman, global head of product operations and solutions at Tiktok, said last week that “the living room is definitely a new frontier that we take very seriously.”
Beyond YouTube’s streaming television service has the capital gained from these subscription fees keeping an eye on the app, increasing its native short video audience.
“These social networks see how well YouTube is doing in the living room and how they solidified themselves as one of the top streamers,” says Emarketer analyst Minda Smiley I said in a recent episode Behind the numbers podcast. “I’m amazed that it took so long.”
