Tonight’s Live Results: Plants vs. Resendiz and Charlo Vs Ramanna

Armando Resendiz is about to ruin plans for tonight’s WBA interim super middleweight champion Caleb Plant by upsetting him with a headliner at the Michelob Ultra Arena in Las Vegas. If underdog Resendiz (26) can defeat Plant (23-2, 14 Kos), he will put himself in a big fighting position. The 32-year-old Plant needs a victory tonight in a big-money clash with Jermall Charlo to occur later this year.

Jermall Charlo returns to the ring

Jermall Charlo leaves the long layoff to face Thomas Ramanna in a 10-round chief support match at the super middleweight division. There is much interest from boxing fans in watching how former two-division world champion Charlo (33-0, 22 Kos) performs. Between 2008 and 2021, he was one of the best fighters in the sport. Jamal was considered a good one for the Charo brothers.

In Charolo’s final battle with Jose Benavides Jr. two years ago, he appeared to have lost some of his skills due to more than two years of inactivity. However, Jamal appears to be more mentally and physically vibrant for his fight against Ramanna tonight.

When Jamal was still active, he is a much better talent than the Caleb plant and will destroy him without too many problems. The question is, did Charlo lose too much to defeat his tuning-up opponent Ramanna (39-5-1, 18 KOs) and plants from his game? If Charlo can revive his former self, Lamanna should not pass the fourth round

Jamal, 35, said this week that he thought Caleb’s plants would “look old” and was surprised to learn that he was three years older than the Tennessee native. Charlo didn’t give him the actual age he was looking at the plants, but it’s fair to say he sees him around the age of 38 or 39. Many fans will agree.
