Tony Bellew: Olexandre Usaik will not give Derek Chisora a farewell fight
Tony Bellow says unified heavyweight champion Oleksandre Usaik won’t give Derek Chisora the send-off and retirement fight he’s hoping for. There’s nothing USYK can get in that level of battle. That makes no financial sense as there is little interest from fans outside the UK.
The harsh reality
Chisora, 41, squealed his fantasies in calling out Usaku and Anthony Joshua after winning Otto Warlin in Manchester, England last Saturday night. His face was beaten and showed worse swelling than any other fight he had during the 18 years of experts.
They tried to play it by saying that the facial damage was due to a head collision, but that wasn’t true. Warrin was beaten with his loss. He would have won He had shown some courage Because Chisora (36-13, 23 Kos) was exhausted in the eighth round and resembles a punching bag throughout the rest of the fight.
Chisora’s promoter can probably dig up domestic-level heavyweights for his 50th final fight, but not more. If Chisora wants to wait until 2026, he can challenge champion Daniel Dubois using his IBF’s essential spot, but that’s not the big payday he’s clearly looking for. He wants AJ and USYK money.
You can’t expect Usyk to fight to the level of enjoying a down-and-out journeyman like Chisora. If he does it, he will have all the Ham and Eggers put pressure on him day and night. It would be a nightmare for the champion.
“I don’t think there’s anything Oleksandr Usyk can get in that fight. Now, trust you, he’s the boss of the (heavyweight) division,” Tony Bellow said. Talksport Boxing Unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk about his unlikely interest in giving 41-year-old Derek Chisora a rematch.
“So there’s nothing really in danger for him and nothing he wants. I don’t see him over the old ground. He rarely does. Not a person. He will rematch that he wins so easily, unless he is very profitable financially. I just don’t see it.
“For Derek, he deserves one big ride in the sunset. Over 50-0. I want to see him. There are many. He’s even called his friend. He said he wanted to fight me. , he’s a madman,” Bellow said of Chisora.
Scrap Heap Options
Chisora must forget that in his 50th retirement battle, he will be given a fight with Olexandre Usaik or Anthony Joshua. A more realistic option would be for Chisora to talk to Frank Warren to match him with one of these British heavyweights.
– Moses bites
– Fraser Clark
– Fabio Wardry
– David Adeley
– Lawrence is fine
– David Allen
– Johnny Fisher
– Nick Webb
They are fighters just above Chisora’s alley, and he may be able to defeat one or two of them. Obviously, if he fought Itauma, O’Collie, Wardley, or Clark it would end badly for Chisora, but at least that would be interesting.
For fans, it would not be fair to match Chisora and IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois. Derek doesn’t deserve it Fight for the title. Defeating Otto Wallin was not enough. It’s not cool for sports that 41-year-old Chisora is trotted as the opponent Dubois will slaughter in a round. You can only imagine the rage of the fans who paid to watch the farce live. They’ll feel fooled for this Fake fights.
