Torpedo bat craze gives thumbs up from MLB commissioner
MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred lends his support to so-called people Torpedo batsince the start of the 2025 season, it has attracted the attention of baseball fans and experts.
Bats were first highlighted New York Yankees’ An opening day game with the Milwaukee Brewers. The brows were further raised when New York mashed nine home runs against the brewers in the second game of the season.

Even if pitchers complain, more players are starting to use bats. However, Manfred backed that in a recent interview.
“I believe issues like the torpedo bat and the discussion around it show the fact that baseball holds a unique place in our culture, because people completely frustrate something really nothing at the end of the day.
Manfred added, “Players have actually been driving the sweet spot with bats for years,” and highlighted the argument that baseball is a rating and attendance.

Baseball Hall of Fame Fergie Jenkins was having a debate in an interview with Outkick’s “Ricky Cobshaw.”
“Well, looking back at the game when I played in the ’60s, ’70s, ’80s, pitchers were pretty much dominant. Now we were like second-rate citizens. Everything was done for the batters.
In addition to changing rules that support hitters, Jenkins said Torpedo bats are just the latest in baseball.
“I think the batters have more striking surfaces and there could be a bit more batting average, but the ball could have better pieces of wood and the ball might move a little more,” he said.

“Who knows? There have been some extra-based hits and now one batter is watching one of his teammates use it. Now he wants to use it. It’s a believer that before the All-Star break, every ball club has a half dozen batters using that torpedo bat.”
