Tottenham is approaching the appointment of Thomas Frank
Tottenham is approaching the naming of Thomas Frank as his next head coach, following the firing of Ange Post Ecogle.
Frank, 51, is currently considered one of the leading candidates to take over the reins of a North London businessman.
The Danish coach, who has been in charge at Brentford since 2018, is currently under contract until 2027.
As a result, Spurs will have to pay substantial compensation fees reported to be over £10 million to secure its services. That amount could increase depending on the number of staff in his back room he wants to take to Tottenham.
The post-Cogro departure came just two weeks after the Spurs led the first major silverware in the Europa League final in nearly 20 years.
Despite that victory, the team endured a disastrous domestic campaign, finishing 17th in the Premier League with 22 losses in 38 games.
Meanwhile, Frank won praise for his work at Brentford. After leading the bees to Premier League promotions through the 2021 Championship Playoffs, he continued to compete on top flights despite limited resources.

This season, Brentford secured a 10th place finish, fully revealing Tottenham’s struggles, finishing 18 points ahead of him.
Tottenham is also preparing to announce the departure of top football manager Scott Mann, marking another change in the club’s off-field structure.
Mann, who joined the Spurs in 2023, is believed to have left the club as part of a broader internal restructuring.
Australian administrators played a key role in the appointment of compatriot Postecoglou last summer. His departure follows the arrival of new CEO Vinai Venkatesham last week and the exit of longtime executive director Donna Cullen.
Currently, both male and female teams without a permanent head coach, the Spurs are bracing for the pivotal summer.
Former football director Fabio Paracity is reportedly being debated to return to a more formal role when the suspension imposed by his FIFA in connection with alleged financial misconduct in his time at Juventus ends in July.
