Trump says Washington commander “not a good name” at a White House event

president Donald Trump Again, this time during a White House event, targeting Washington commanders due to the franchise’s infamous name change.
In a ceremony to sign an executive order to reestablish the president Physical testTrump addressed questions about his recent demand that the franchise return the name to the Redskins.
“I don’t even know what their last name is,” Trump said. “Is it a commander or something? Is it a commander? Commander, that’s not a good name.”

Trump called the Redskins “legend” and suggested that the team “reclaim their name.”
Trump did so again at the White House on Thursday, asking the Guardians in Cleveland to return their names to the Indians.
“And, the Cleveland Indians. What about that? It was the original. The original franchise – 1903 or something, 1906. The original Cleveland Indians, and what do they do?
“What’s the problem with the word “Indian”? Do you know who’s upset about it?

Trump recently called on social media to change his name and even suggested that he might try to block funds for Washington’s new $3.7 billion stadium project on the oldest site RFK Stadium.
The project is in the design and negotiation stages, with a groundbreaking plan planned in 2026 and a projected opening in 2030. The organization is working with the DC Council to finalize the transaction.
