Twin Byron Buxton hit the cycle on his own bobblehead day

Saturday afternoon at Target Field was Byron Buxton Bobblehead Day; Minnesota Twins Fans were treated to another Buxton gift.

The All-Star outfielder hit the cycle Pittsburgh Pirates And we did it in an epic way.

Buxton began it with a single at the bottom, first as the lead hitter for the twins. In two innings of Minnesota’s six-run home, he tripled.

Buxton then hit a ground rule double in three innings, putting pressure on the rest of the game.

For the fifth time, Buxton won his fourth hit of the game, but it was a single. Seventh, he went to the plate for the fifth and perhaps the last time. He quickly fell to 0-2 holes, but that didn’t matter.

Buxton swung around with an 80-mile destruction ball that cut out the bottom of the zone and he got it all. The ball moved to a 427-foot dead center, leaving the bat at 106 mph, causing the crowd to erupt.

This was the first cycle to hit the Target Field, which opened in 2010, and the first cycle with twins since 2019 when Jorge Polanco achieved the feat.

Buxton is finally showing what he can do on the field as he has been healthy for most of the season. He has played twice in over 100 games since 2015, but has played 77 of 85 games this season.

He was selected as an All-Star for the second time in his career, and made it in 2022 when he mashed 28 home runs in 92 games. However, injuries derailed the rest of his season. In 2021 he played in just 61 games, but accumulated a 4.9 war by reducing .306/.358/.647 with 19 Homer and 32 RBI.
