Tyson Fury’s sadness over Deontay Wilder: a shadow of his previous self?
Tyson Fury expressed his sadness for Deontay Wilder when asked today about his thoughts on the bronze bomber performance against Tyrrell Anthony Herndon last Friday night.
Wilder’s right hand is gone?
Fury said he saw a clip of former WBC heavyweight champion Wilder (44-4-1, 43 Kos) with Herndon, and he felt that he was a “shadow” of his former self in his headliner at Charles Koch Arena in Wichita, Kansas on June 27th. Deontay’s right side power was gone and he was forced to use his left for his power punch.
He dropped Herndon (24-6, 15 Kos) twice to knock him out seventh, but he was forced to throw the club’s rights and left hand. His famous straight rights seemed weak.
Before the fight, Deontay revealed he was dealing with his right shoulder issue, but he said he was not injured. If this is a permanent situation, Wilder must retire as he cannot beat any of the top 15 unless his right hand is fully operational.
He must be fine as long as 39-year-old Deontay can ultimately regain the strength of his arms. If he can’t regain his full strength, he will definitely continue his fight against top-class opposition. Wilder had problems with ti disease and gun-like appearance, even before his right shoulder problem.
He was afraid to throw a punch in a trilogy match against Fury in 2021. He dropped “The Guspie King” twice for the fourth time, but he couldn’t clean up after he gassed.
Fury responds to Wilder’s performance
“I saw a clip of it. It was sad to see, and it was sad to see Deontay Wilder’s fierce and ferociousness and all of it. Fighting Hub TVresponding to the weak and lethargic Deontay Wilder in his victory over Tyrell Anthony Herndon last Friday night. “I’m sad, and I knocked out B**** twice. So I’m sad for him.”
Fury is not the one who talks about the fact that fighters are their previous shadows. He appears to be 100% washing in his final two fights with Oleksandr Usaik and loses both fights. In the way Tyson played in both fights, he lost to many of the top 15 candidates. At 36, Fury hasn’t come close to the top form he showed when he defeated Vladimir Klitschko in 2015 years ago and defeated Deontey in 2019.
