Food delivery serviceshared a statement on Thursday about the rollout of AI features for restaurants and customers, powered by Ride-Share Comoany Uber. With some updates, Uber Eats is coming in a close competition with Doordash. This includes some new features in Uber Eats.
AI doesn’t control every part of your ordering and delivery experience, but you can expect to make some changes. This is what we know.
Uber Eats Restaurant AI Features
Uber Eats’ new AI features enhance menu items’ photos.
There are several features that the restaurant might find useful. Uber Eats uses AI to summarise restaurant customer reviews, understand customer feedback, create menu descriptions, and enhance low-quality images of dishes.
Uber Eats says merchants can review and approve content before it appears on the app.
Uber Eats Customer AI Features
Us Uber Eats customers can earn $3 Uber Cash on the menu photos of the restaurant’s selection.
Aside from the restaurant’s features, Uber Eats shows you several features for its customers. If you don’t have a photo at the restaurant yet, you can take a photo of the food. In exchange, if a photo is selected, you can get an Uber Cash.
This applies to us, our customers in Canada, Mexico and the UK, and only applies to our selected dishes. US customers will get $3 Uber Cash for each selected photo.
Typically, customers need to communicate with Uber Eats on behalf of the restaurant on any issue. Now, Uber Eats’ new AI Live Order Chat will allow restaurants to communicate directly with customers once they receive an order. The goal is to prevent ordering and delivery issues before they arise, such as special requests or allergy preferences.
These AI features are currently available through the Uber Eats app for both merchants and customers.
