Undocumented main police officer arrested on ice after a gun violation

First on FOX – US Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) Officer Jamaican citizen arrested For allegedly attempting to illegally purchase a firearm while employed as a reserve police officer at Old Orchard Beach.

According to the Boston ICE Enforcement and Removal Work (ERO), John Luke Evans was taken into custody with support from alcohol, cigarettes, firearms and explosives (ATFs) after an attempt to purchase a firearm raised concerns. His immigration status at Biddeford on July 25th.

According to federal authorities, Evans legally entered the United States through Miami International Airport on September 24, 2023 under a visa requesting departure by October 1, 2023.

During the investigation, Evans reportedly claimed he was trying to buy a firearm for use in his role at the old Orchard Beach Police Station.

ICE officials are now questioning how individuals without legal immigration status were hired by local police agencies and issued weapons issued by the potential department.

“The incident raises serious concern,” said Patricia H. Hyde, director of the field office at Ero Boston. “We will continue to ensure that individuals who violate immigration laws and pose a potential threat to public safety are held liable.”

Evans’ arrest continues In a similar case, in April, when an ice officer detained an employee of another illegal immigration law enforcement agency in Falmouth, Maine.

Gratien Mirandau Wamba, a 32-year-old Congolese national, worked as an amendment officer when he was arrested by ICE for immigration violations after allegedly attempting to illegally purchase a firearm.

“Officers with the US immigration and customs enforcement, enforcement and removal operations Boston Field Office have arrested Gratien Milandu Wamba, an illegally existing 32-year-old citizen of Congo,” Ice spokesman James Covington realized the arrest came from an illegal attempt to shoot the gun.

ICE emphasized continuing enforcement efforts across New England and working with other federal agencies to identify and arrest individuals for violations of those employed in sensitive public safety positions, particularly those employed.
