Uvalde School Board votes to release Robb Elementary School shooting records

After 38 months of silence, legal obstacles and sadness, Uvalde CISD board members unanimously voted to release records from the horrifying mass shooting at Robb Elementary.
Board votes follow the following recent decisions Fourth Court of Appeal The verdict was sent in favor of several news agencies that demanded both school and county records during the 2022 massacre, which claimed the lives of 19 children and two teachers.
County Commissioner Ronald Garza demanded that the board withdraw the appeal and release the records, and called for the court to control the family’s victory during the public forum.

“These attorneys representing UCISD and Uvalde County ultimately work for taxpayers… the more this goes, the more taxpayers’ costs will be,” Garza says.

“For over three years, families like me have lived in silence that feels like unbearable pain, unanswered questions and yet another betrayal,” said Gloria Cazares, mother of 9-year-old Jackie Cazares.

“It’s about making sure what happens to my daughter,” Cazares said. “I’m here today to demand the truth. You all owe it to Jackie, your classmates and your teachers.”
