Venezuela calls us the government’s plane seizure “brave theft.”

“These sanctions will be applied and strengthened.”

Dominican Republic officials detained the aircraft last year after saying the US had violated unilateral US sanctions against Venezuela.

According to the US State Department, Venezuelan officials flew to Greece, Turkey, Russia, Nicaragua and Cuba and took them to the Dominican Republic to maintain them.

Venezuela’s Foreign Ministry said it would “condemn this theft and take all necessary actions to request the immediate return of the aircraft.”

In September, the United States seized the first Venezuelan government plane in the Dominican Republic, which was used to carry President Maduro on international travel under then-President Joe Biden.
