Vietnam offers to remove all our tariffs after Trump’s actions

According to an April 5 letter from Vietnam’s Communist Party, Vietnam has offered to remove all tariffs on US imports after Donald Trump announced 46% collection in Southeast Asian countries.

The offer was made by the party leader to Lam in a letter Bloomberg saw to the US President. In the letter, Lamb asked that the US not apply additional tariffs or fees on Vietnamese goods and to postpone the implementation of the tariffs announced by Trump from April 9th at least 45 days later.

The letter confirms comments made by Trump on his Truth Social Network on Friday, following a call between the two leaders. Vietnam has increasingly become a major manufacturing and export alternative to China, but was slapped last Wednesday at one of the world’s highest tariff rates.
