What does vision mean?
This fireside chat summary is from FreightWaves 3PL Summit Wednesday, February 26th.
Fireside Chat Topics: If visibility fails: Consequences of ignoring real-time load compliance
detail: Visibility is more than just a dot on a map. Highway’s Chief Commercial Officer Michael Caney and Freightwaves’ Mary O’Connell analyze how true visibility is more than just a location service and a real end-to-end solution.
Important quote from Kanye:
“I think vision is a bigger conversation. It has to do with everything that comes with the life of the load. What we are talking about in place visibility, we are talking about carrier performance. There are many other things that determine the performance of a carrier that has nothing to do with where that dot is. If you go upstream of the problem and resolve the trust issue, then “Are you going to deliver my load on time?” is the trust issue. ”
“When you think about vision, if everything is important, nothing is important. When you talk about creating a trustworthy environment between your career, partner and 3PL, I don’t think we’re saying nothing is going to work. We say we believe we manage exceptions.”
“Can you know that you understand that carrier globally, not what a truck or carrier said? It’s not based on what the carrier said to you, but can you look at the carrier with a single load of whether the carrier physically can move that cargo? Can you know if that carrier is overbooked, how much capacity they have? How much are they committed? Do you know if the truck is insured? If something happens during the lifetime of that load, it has nothing to do with the location, but it has something to do with theft and fraud.”
