White House economists plan to control avian flu and lower egg prices

The White House is working towards a plan to control the avian flu. Egg prices Kevin Hassett, director of the National Economic Council, said on Sunday.
Hassett appeared on CBS’s “Face the Nation.” Agricultural Secretary Brooke Rollins “works with the best people in the government, including academics from all over the world, to plan to prepare President Donald Trump on the disease next week.
“Biden’s plan was to kill chickens. They spent billions of dollars just randomly killing chickens within the boundaries where they found sick chickens,” he said.
Hassett said the plans he is working on in the Trump administration “have better ways to make sure there’s no need to kill chickens, such as biosecurity or drugs.”

“So having smart boundaries is something we’re working on, and we’re setting out our best scientists in government and ideas on how to do that,” Hassett said. “And that was something that should have happened a year ago, and if that were the case, the egg price would be much better than it is now.”

“When I saw the consumer price index come out, I realized that the stags created by President Biden’s policies were far worse than I thought,” Hassett said. “Over the past three months, all products, including eggs, have had an average inflation rate of 4.6%, far above target, accelerating at the end of Biden’s period.”
