WNBA Draft: Sedona Prince has not been drafted after allegations of abuse

The 6-foot-7 center has filed a police report claiming that she was involved in a physical altercation with a woman she previously dated and that both women were assaulted. Prince’s lawyer, A. Boon Almanza admitted to the January 18 incident but said no charges were filed.

Prince also petitioned to take her off the team after being accused of sexual assault and domestic violence by another ex-girlfriend. The player denied all allegations against her, saying, “No one has abused her in her life, whether mentally, emotionally or physically.”

“Unfortunately, others have decided to use Sedona as a launch point for their careers,” Armanda said at the time.

Prince played throughout the NCAA tournament as the horned frog reached the Elite Eight. She averaged 17.2 points, 9.4 rebounds and three blocks per game.

Still, the draft team hadn’t taken her a chance.

Prince rose to prominence in 2021 when her Tiktok video showed off the gap between men and women March Madness tournament. This has led the NCAA to revamp the women’s tournament.

She was then the leading plaintiff in what is known as a multi-billion dollar residential settlement.
