You probably haven’t seen this hilarious show on Netflix’s top 10

Every week, Netflix A list of the top 10 most viewed rankings revealed movie and TV shows It falls into English and non-English categories. It’s always fun to see what’s popped on the platform, but while many of the titles usually include a new release that’s highly anticipated, as expected, the list always has some There is a surprise. So who was expecting the 2016 Ben Affleck film, “An Accountant Shot No. 1 on Netflix last spring”? It couldn’t really prickle any spider sensations.

Some titles are obvious choices to get the coveted Netflix bump, but it can be difficult to explain why. Every week, you can look at the top 10 and call some of the most notable, often random titles on the list to understand it.

It’s no surprise that English languages show that they dominate last week’s list (starting on February 3rd). This includes two of Netflix’s most popular series of the past few years: Night Seasons of The Night Agent and The Retruit. What’s even more interesting to me is the unexpected presence of Envious, one of my favourite comedies of the past year.

If you’re not from Argentina, if you noticed it at all on the Netflix landing page, it’s quite possible you’ve ignored this show. Envious is ranked 8th on the list of the top 10 non-English TV shows of the week – is a 30-minute sitcom starring Argentinian actress and singer Griselda Siciliani, and Sex and the The The The The Like Romantic City for fans of Comedy Shows, young, ally McBeal, it’s definitely worth the time.

In a comedy that skillfully combines slapstick humor with romance with personal growth attempts, Siciliani plays Vicki, a 40-year-old single who is jealous of all her friends who are married and have children. In season one, Vicki breaks up with her long-term boyfriend, Dani. Dani was the man she had raised for ten years when she put her dream of success aside, patiently waiting for suggestions that she never came. Cut… Newly single Dani, who marries the first hot and young dance instructor he sees, longing for Vicki to pry into their relationship, peers into their lives and uses her old keys He even sneaked into their apartment to learn more about the young Dani bride.

If it sounds like a farce, it’s often the case. But the show’s stupidity is offset by Vicky’s therapy session, where she tries to justify her immature, self-sabotage behavior, but her wounds abandon her as a child I accept that it comes from that. While it may sound deeper if you dig into Vicky’s trauma, the show rarely remains in those dramatic moments. They look long enough to motivate Vicki’s character. Vicki’s therapy sessions go crazy, and the therapist acts as a deadpan foil for self-remarkable monologues about Vicki’s life and her colleagues and friends, helping her path to self-discovery. (I highly recommend watching the series in Spanish with subtitles, as English dubs are cartoonish and ruins most of their performances.)

After breaking up with Dani in the first season, Vicki meets Mattias (Esteban Lamote), who is not her type, and reluctantly falls for him. Season 2, which arrived on February 5th, was picked up after Vicki and Dani reconciliation, causing Matthias to break his heart, and Vicki wondered if she had chosen the right man.

Sicily Griselda ("Vicki"), Martín Garabal ("Mite"), Esteban Lamote ("Matthias") I'm jealous

Netflix

Certainly, viousious (its Spanish title is envidiosa) draws some of the humor from cultural observations inherent to Argentina, but it is a sharp writing cross-culture of Siciliani performances and shows, and is spot-on. Enviable balance balance balances comedy and drama through the lens of a complex, unsettling but hilarious protagonist, as does almost every great rom-coms. Make your jealousy your palate cleanser when you were banging your night agents.
