Zach Edey of Grizzlies was caught driving 101 mph in the 55 mph zone, police say

The Memphis Grizzlies Center Zack Edith was reportedly suspended in Indiana as he allegedly speeded up the 55 mph zone earlier this month.

Standing at 7’4″ Edith was the ninth pick of last year’s NBA Draft after winning the Nice Miss Player of the Year in his last two seasons as a boiler maker.

He recently underwent ankle surgery, which could have missed the start of the 2025-26 season. Edey needed procedures to repair and reconsider his ankle after respiring during offseason training last week.

The Grizzlies said the 7-foot-4 Canadian will be evaluated again in four months.

Edey missed 12 games early in the season due to a sprain in his left ankle. He played 66 games and started 55 games.

His Grizzlies earned an 8 seed at the Western Conference, but was wiped out by the top seed Oklahoma City Thunderhas won one victory from his first championship since moving from Seattle in the first round.
