Meta begins to eliminate jobs in shifts and finds AI talent

The Facebook co-founder said in another message to the manager that Cut will create personnel to hire “the most powerful talent.”
In recent years, job vacancies have been consistently reduced in the meta. The company fired thousands of employees in 2022 and 2023 as part of its efficiency drive. The latest wave of firing is expected to be completed by the end of the performance cycle, which will take place over February. They come when Meta aims to beat competitors like Openai and Deepseek in the fast artificial intelligence race.
Zuckerberg told investors in late January that Meta expects to eventually spend hundreds of billions of dollars on AI infrastructure. The Menlo Park, California-based company applies AI to a variety of apps and business units, from social media platforms such as Instagram and Facebook to virtual reality glasses.
