Openai CEO Sam Altman calls Musk’s bid to “slow us down” attempt
In the interview Openai CEO Sam Altman rejected Elon Musk’s at the AI Action Summit in Paris on Tuesday Unsolicited $97.4 billion bid for Openai’s nonprofit “An attempt to slow down (Openai) is down.”
“(Musk) is clearly a competitor.” Altman said. “He’s raising a lot of money for (his AI company) Xai and they’re trying to compete with us from a technical standpoint.”
Altman said, “I think everything (of Musk) comes from an uncertainty position (…) I don’t think he’s a happy person.”
Altman shot down Musk’s offer to Openai’s nonprofit almost immediately in a public post Monday. We formally reject the bid. But that may not happen anytime soon. In a Tuesday interviewOpenai’s board member Larry Summers said “we have not received any kind of formal communication (about bids) other than media coverage.”
