Thomas Parte says family happiness is key to the future as he ponders his stay at Arsenal
Thomas Parte says he is an Arsenal fan, but suggests he is happy to sign the Emirates this summer and leave the Emirates as it expires.
Partey’s current deal will be gone at the end of June, and talks on new terms are underway, but there has been no agreement yet.
Arsenal is also set to sign Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad, giving him even more doubt about the future of the North London midfielder.
Speaking to Ghanaian TV station TV3 during an international mission this week, Partey said:
“At the end of the day when you were in football, you were on different teams, and it is about your next goal and what you want to achieve next.
“You still have to look at all this, and at the end of the day we all have families that need money. This is our hearts.”
Part – I’m an Arsenal fan
Partey has been the usual target of opposing fans over the past two seasons, and he has admitted that his family’s happiness also falls into the equation.
He added: “We are not getting younger, there is a lot to see with our family.
“When you go out, no one is going to destroy your family. These are things you have to see. When you’re young, you’re everywhere.
“I’m an Arsenal fan. I can’t decide anything, I have to leave it to the agents and the club. I just want to enjoy football.”
After suffering injuries the previous year, Part returned to his mainstay in Arsenal midfield last season, appearing 52 times in all competitions.
