Trump calls Ed Con Job’s division after we ranked 40th in education
President Donald Trump called the Department of Education “a fraudulent job.” He said he saw reports that the country ranks 40th in the world of education, but is number one per student cost.
Trump spoke with reporters from his oval office Wednesday afternoon.
“Ah, I want you to close it soon. Look at the Ministry of Education. That’s a big fraudulent job,” he replied. “They are ranked among the top countries in the world. We are ranked 40th, but we are ranked 1st in the first division. Cost per student. So, the world’s We were ranked number 40, although it costs more per student than any other country.”
Trump said the last time he saw where the US was ranked for education, it ranked 38th, but then looked two days ago and the country fell to number 40.

He even noted that China was ranked in the top five.
“The bigger it is, the top five, and that’s our … major competitor,” Trump said. “So if we’re ranked number 40, that means something is really wrong.”
The president ordered the Office of Government Efficiency (DOGE), the division led by Elon Musk, to find ways to reduce wasteful spending, and the DOE created a chopping block this week.

In fact, Doge announced on Monday that $881 million has been cut in connection with the $89 DOE contract.
Of that $881 million, Doge said it would help students understand/interrogate the complex histories involved in oppression, allowing students to recognize the realms of privilege and power on a personal and collective basis. “Your taxes have been spent on this,” Musk wrote about DOE spending.
Last month, Trump signed two executive orders on education. One is to remove federal funds from K-12 schools that teach critical race theory (CRT), and the other to help with school choices.

CRT teaching, and other controversial content at school, has sparked backlash from parents at school board meetings around the country over the past few years. During the presidential election, Trump committed to cutting CRT, transgender ideology and federal funding for schools that promote other inappropriate racial, sexual or political content for our children.
