Trump praises Kentucky Derby statement for “New Golden Age”

president Donald Trump He praised his administration’s work in a statement on Saturday, sharing his “best wish” with competitors in the 151st edition of the Kentucky Derby.

Trump issued a statement before 19 thoroughbred fields took their place in front of 150,000 fans on Saturday night, engraving 1.25 miles around Churchill Downs.

“When the first Kentucky Derby began in the spring of 1875, one year before the 100th anniversary of American independence, we were in the midst of a grand transformation. As expansion into the west is underway, our industry is booming, and the promise of the fate of our manifesto was struck by the hearts of a 10,000 audience.

Trump’s statement said this year’s race also serves as a reminder to “we’re in the early days of the new golden age.”

Kentucky Derby 2025: Churchill Downs sights and scenes

“Now, we recognize that we are in the early days of the new golden age, as our nation gathers for the same Derby in 150 years, and one year before celebrating 250 years of independence. Our nation reworks our heritage and rules over all of our greatness and glory.

“I send my best wishes to the safe and successful Kentucky Derby. May God bless you, and may he continue to bless the United States of America. May the best horse win!”

The race is scheduled to begin at 6:57pm ET on NBC and will be muddy with weather forecasts that predict 90% of the rain.
