Who is your favorite to win the Super Bowl LX?
It’s less than 24 hours removed from Super Bowl LIX, and some NFL fans have already moved to the 2025-26 season.
The Super Bowl LX is scheduled to take place on February 8, 2026 in Santa Clara, California, and there are already teams that should be considered as favorites to appear in that game. The Philadelphia Eagles appear poised for another run in the Lombardi Trophy. They suffered from beatdowns, but the Chiefs are always a threat to win the Super Bowl as long as Patrick Mahome and Andy Reed are together.
With the franchise already looking forward to the Super Bowl LX, let’s decide which teams are most likely to appear in next year’s big game.
Philadelphia Eagles
The Eagles have a shot legal to win back-to-back titles.
Jalen Hurts has been on a contract for at least three years or more, but Saquon has another season before Philadelphia could opt out after 2026. After that, I hope he will sign if he continues to post numbers like this season. He immediately extended his contract with the Eagles. Meanwhile, four of the five stud offensive linemen have been signed for at least a year. That means the Eagles will run it on the best offensive line in the NFL in 2025.
They need to make some business decisions on the defense of the ball. Linebacker Zack Baun is hoping to sign an extension of contract this offseason after leading Philadelphia in tackle during the regular season and playoffs. Defensive linemen Josh Sweatt and Milton Williams renewed their contracts with how they played in the Super Bowl.
Philadelphia will need to exchange backup/meaning contributors on either side of the ball. Offensive lineman Mekibecton, defensive end Brand Glaham, Kenneth Gainwell and linebacker Orenberks are set to become free agents this offseason. Still, I’m sure the Eagles will find a solid alternative for all of them.
With most of Philadelphia’s important works and coaches remaining on the team for the next few years, they should compete for the Super Bowl in 2025-26.
Kansas City Chiefs
Just because the Chiefs lost Super Bowl LIX, that doesn’t mean they’re not lined up to compete for Super Bowl LX. In fact, the 2025-26 chiefs claim that they will be a greater threat to win the Super Bowl than the 2024-25 chiefs.
Patrick Mahomes is still signed with the Chief for at least the next three years. Meanwhile, head coach Andy Reed will sign an extension in the offseason and will keep him at KC until 2029 unless he decides to retire earlier. With these two still leading the charges, the Chiefs are a threat to make a Super Bowl every year. Just as Tom Brady and Bill Belichick were for the New England Patriots.
At the same time, All-Pro defensive lineman Chris Jones is set to play at least two or more seasons for KC, so the Chiefs’ best defensive player will return next season. Plus, Travis Kelce is a very important contributor to the two Kansas City returning next year, as it is likely that he will return to the team in 2025-26.
The Chiefs must be active in free agency and drafts. Six of the most productive wide receivers and running backs are set to become free agents this offseason. They also need to figure out whether they want to take home offensive lineman Trey Smith and linebacker Nick Bolton.
If you are confident in the skill position group, sign Bolton and create some upgrades along the offensive line, there is no reason why KC won’t be able to reach the fourth Super Bowl in 2026.
Detroit Lions
I’m a Green Bay Packers fan, but I’m the first to admit that I thought the Detroit Lions were going to run away in the NFC. Despite all their injuries, they managed to record the most wins in 15 in one season of the franchise history. Unfortunately, injuries and poor preparations by Detroit’s offensive and defensive coordinators caught up with them in the split round of the 2025 NFL playoffs. . If people like defensive linemen Aidan Hutchinson and Alim McNeill were playing against the Washington Comemanders, the game could have gone differently.
The Lions have lost two best coordinators in the NFL, but many of the other important pieces from 2024-25 are still there next season. Offensive lineman Penay Swell and wide receiver Amon La St. Brown will return to Detroit next year, running through head coach Dan Campbell, quarterback Jared Goff and Jamer Gibbs. It also brings back several defensive contributors, including linebacker Jack Campbell, cornerback Amic Robertson, safety Kirby Joseph and linebacker Alex Anzalon.
Aidan Hutchinson will play a major role in the Lions’ success next year. If he could play next year like he was playing before breaking his leg, he could potentially win the Defensive Player of the Year award. That type of contribution is invaluable for a team that has just surrendered 45 points in the playoffs.
There must be some alternatives made throughout the roster. With Carlton Davis III, Kindle Vildor, Ifeatu Melifonwu, Khalil Dorsey, and Emmanuel Mosley set up to be free agents, the Lions either reorganize some of those people or draft and free agency You will need to exchange them through. They will also need to add an offensive line depth along with Kevin Zeitler and Dan Skipper, who are scheduled to test the free agent market.
More importantly, Detroit needs to make up for the production lost in defensive and offensive coordinators. If former Denver Broncos can hold themselves as play characters, the Lions will be in the best position to compete in the Super Bowl in 2026 if game coordinator John Morton and former Detroit linebacker coach Kelvin Shepherd can hold themselves as play characters Masu.
Buffalo Bills
The Buffalo bill is in the thick of the Super Bowl Hunt along with the Kansas City chief, but they still couldn’t get over the hump. Still, they should be considered one of their favorites to win the Super Bowl LX.
Quarterback Josh Allen had the best year of his career, where he only had three pro bowlers on the roster (two of whom were offensive linemen). Now it’s general manager Brandon Bean, who surrounds Allen with talent. James Cook is the second best offensive weapon the bill has, but after him there is a big drop-off in the skill position. It doesn’t help that Buffalo’s second receiver, Mack Hollins, is set to become a free agent this offseason. Ty Johnson’s second running back will also become a free agent. Also, Amari Cooper, a wideout they traded mid-season, will be testing a free agency this spring. Buffalo could lose three key offensive contributors this offseason.
They need to spend a lot of their time on free agency and use draft capital wisely to give Joshu Allen more weapons, but the bill needs to be improved defensively. After acquiring two defensive Pro Bowlers in 2023, Buffalo has only had one defender named All-Pro or Pro Bowler for the past two seasons (cornerback Taron Johnson was the second team last year (One was selected as All-Pro). This isn’t enough for the team to be trying to win the Super Bowl right now.
Buffalo will need to make some flashy moves this offseason. Taking a deal with Miles Garrett in Cleveland or Max Crosby in Las Vegas is the type of decision that can change the complexion of this team and the AFC as a whole. It also didn’t hurt to sign true number one wide receivers like Tee Higgins in Cincinnatti or Davante Adams in New York.
Buffalo will need to compete in the Super Bowl next season if they don’t make the aforementioned moves. However, if they can bring in one or two other stars, they are considered a much more serious threat to wind up the Lombardi Trophy.
