Yellow spotted baby turtles are released in the Brazil River
Approximately 4,900 yellow spotted river turtles, also known as Tlakajas, have been released on the Igapo-Achu River in Brazil.
The threatened species lives in river basins in northern South America, and Amazonas Federal University has been running a project aimed at increasing turtle populations for a decade.
Meanwhile, over 70,000 turtles are free to live in the wild.
